UF-269 - Biomedical Sciences Building
Building Number: 0213 - BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES BUILDING
Project Description: The Biomedical Sciences Building (BMSB) has been programmed and designed to be approximately 160,000 gross square feet, providing approximately 85,000+/- net assigned square feet to house the research and administrative operation of the biomedical engineering, sciences and animal resources. The physical and cultural integration of the Biosciences, Medicine and Biomedical Engineering with the BMSB facility will provide synergistic and collaborative environments that will establish UF as a leader in interdisciplinary biomedical science, engineering, technology, translational research and technology transfer. Close proximity to a state of the art animal care facility in the same building will add to the synergy and allow UF researchers housed in the BMSB and across campus access to the finest biomedical research infrastructure in the world. It is the intention for this project to create the physical, administrative and intellectual infrastructure to establish UF as one of the top ten research institutions in the country. Project is combined with UF-239 which is the Emergency Power Systems for several HSC Buildings.
