UAA-17 - Baseball Locker Room Construction & Lemerand Ctr Renovation
Building Number: 1000 - LEMERAND ATHLETICS CENTER
Project Description: The baseball locker room facility has become essential due to space constraints in the Lemerand Center, which was occupied in the fall of 1995. The Lemerand Center originally housed locker room spaces for soccer, baseball, softball, mens track, womens track and volleyball. The softball locker room was located to a new facility adjacent to softball playing fielding in 2001 as an effort to provide better access to their competitive facility and to open space for the volleyball locker room to expand. The remaining five teams currently occupy spaces that are too small for the number of student athletes participating on each team; therefore, we must create new spaces for our student athletes. Since the baseball team fields a combined number of over 50 student athletes, it was decided that the baseball team would move from Lemerand Center to a new facility, which would open up adequate space for the volleyball, soccer, mens and womens track teams that will remain at the renovated Lemerand Center. The locker room facility will improve the following space for the baseball program: locker rooms, audio-visual rooms, showers, restrooms, and storage. There will be an enhancement to the Lemerand Center entrance and the North East entrance of the Baseball field entrance.
