Air Potato Round-Up

UF continues to participate in the City of Gainesville’s Great Air Potato Round-up. The Campus Conservation Areas of President’s Park, Bat-house Woods and Bartram-Carr Woods have been clean up sites for the last four years. The 2007 harvest was the smallest yet, hopefully indicating some success at eradicating these invasive exotics. The volunteer’s efforts, along with the University’s long-term commitment to proper management of its Conservation Areas, will hopefully lead to an air-potato free campus in the near future. For information on these plants go to http://www.fleppc.org/ID_book/Dioscorea_bulbifera.pdf

The University would like to thank all of the Gator volunteers for their efforts.
