University of Florida
Design & Construction Standards

The various University entities responsible for the operation, maintenance, renovation, construction, and general care of the University's buildings, utilities, and grounds require construction that is complete, durable, easily maintained, safe, and compatible with existing and planned facilities. These Standards have been established to express the requirements common to all facilities comprising the University of Florida's main campus including Appendixes that express specific requirements with the intention they be used as a guide by the Design Professional in developing project designs.

These Standards are general in nature and, as such, specific site conditions, code requirements or regulations may warrant a deviation from the Standards. In such cases, the University's Project Manager should be notified before proceeding with the design.

The University recognizes that its design and construction consultants are often more aware of industry standards and emerging trends, so continuous feedback and suggestions for improving these Standards are welcomed.

The deadline to submit proposed revisions to the UF Design & Construction Standards for the August 2008 submittal compilation is Friday, July 18th.  All submissions should be completed using the Standards Change Request Form.  All proposals will be documented and submitted for consideration during the review process.
